Pirates announce former fullham player Abdeslam as new head coach

Official Club Statement: Appointment of Abdeslam Ouaddou as Head CoachOrlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Abdeslam Ouaddou as the new Head Coach.

The former Marumo Gallants tactician ,former fulham player joins the Buccaneers following a thorough and extensive search for a suitable replacement for Jose Riveiro. Ouaddou, a former Moroccan international and UEFA Pro Licence holder, brings a wealth of experience and leadership, having recently coached in the South African top flight.

During his tenure with Marumo Gallants, Ouaddou oversaw 12 matches, securing five wins, four draws, and only three defeats. Notably, one of his victories came against Orlando Pirates, with Gallants emerging 2-0 winners at the Free State Stadium in March.

As he assumes his new role at the Soweto giants, Ouaddou steps into the shoes of Jose Riveiro, who delivered five trophies during a highly successful three-year spell at the club and helped re-establish Orlando Pirates as a dominant force both domestically and on the continent.Coach Ouaddou is expected to link up with the team as they embark on their pre-season tour of Spain in preparation for the 2025 campaign.

His first competitive fixture in charge is scheduled to be against Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarterfinals.The Club extends a warm welcome to Coach Ouaddou and looks forward to an exciting new chapter under his leadership.
