Wydad AC will be representing Morocco and Africa at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, to be hosted by the U.S. from June 14 to July 13. Placed in a tough Group G, Wydad will face off with Manchester City, Juventus, and Al Ain—a true continental mettle test.
The club takes part in the competition with a new leadership after the exit of Rhulani Mokwena in April, with Mohamed Amine Benhachem now at the helm. The coaching change has not prevented Wydad from strengthening its frontline with two South African sensations: Thembinkosi Lorch and Cassius Mailula, both signed from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Lorch, an inventive playmaker, has already had an effect since arriving in February, adding flair and experience. Mailula, on the other hand, adds pace and finishing instinct, a dynamic edge to Wydad’s attack. Together, they could be the key to unlocking stubborn defenses.
